Catholic Charities recognizes that helping older adults maintain their independence is a growing need in our community. To meet this need, Catholic Charities offers the following program services:

Transportation Services: Volunteers provide rides to

medical appointments
grocery store
any government or business office

Eligibility: Anyone 60 and older who is able to walk either on his or her own or with the use of a cane or walker.
Fees: None; services are provided by volunteers.
Location: 6001 Marble NE, Albuquerque.
Requests taken: Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm.
Services provided: Mon - Sat, 8am -5pm, depending on Volunteer availability; occasionally services available on weekends.

Respite Services:

Provides a "Rest" for primary caregivers of dependent older adults age 65 and older. A volunteer will visit the home to give the caregiver a break from the responsibility of caregiving. Services provided are:

companionship
conversation
friendship
emotional support
help with daily living activities

Eligibility: Caregivers of adults, age 60 and older.
Fees: None.
Location: 6001 Marble NE, Albuquerque.
Requests taken: Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm.
Services provided: Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm, depending on Volunteer availability; occasionally services available on weekends.

Friendly Visits:
Helps to reduce the loneliness and isolation of homebound seniors. Volunteers who visit offer companionship and an opportunity for socialization.

Eligibility: Anyone 60 and older.

Services provided: Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm, depending on Volunteer availability. occasionally services available on weekends.
