HOUSING PROGRAM
The Housing Program of the Family Services Department ensures that a broad range of comprehensive and integrated services is provided to homeless families and individuals and families who have been recently evicted from their homes. The Housing Program has a number of projects available, including:

ACCESS, Albuquerque's Continuum of Care for Enhanced Support Services, is Albuquerque's first coordinated effort to provide integrated services amongst member community agencies.  Services include:

  • case management
  • counseling and mental health services, including domestic violence and substance abuse counseling.
  • vocational training and other services.
  • job placement and job retention
  • client advocacy
  • family outreach
  • adult basic education and life skills classes
  • child care and child care referral
  • transportation
  • healthcare and dental care
  • parenting and life skills training
  • donations of household goods
  • income support
  • referrals to other services and service providers

Eligibility: Individuals/family must be homeless and participants must be motivated and willing to engage in the services provided.

Proyecto La Luz is a transitional housing program designed to move homeless women with children into permanent housing and self-sufficiency.  Services include::

  • case management
  • counseling and mental health services
  • vocational training
  • job placement and job retention
  • client advocacy
  • family outreach
  • adult basic education
  • child care and child care referral
  • transportation
  • healthcare
  • parenting and life skills training

 

Fees: No more than 30% of client income to be paid toward rent.

The Client Courthouse Advocacy Project provides services that include referrals to resources for such things as:

  • housing
  • counseling and mental health services
  • vocational training
  • job placement and job retention
  • client advocacy
  • family outreach
  • adult basic education
  • childcare and child care referral
  • transportation
  • healthcare
  • parenting and life skills training
 
Eligibility: Court-referred clients currently in the process of restitution.
Fees: None
